Just got tranny back....it was toast. All new and better now.
Engine in the shop getting new rings, bearings, and cam.
Heads at machine shop getting reface and reseat and exhaust ports opened up to match new larger tube headers.

Car in my garage getting new A-frame bushings and Ball-joints, chassis repaint, moving radiator ahead 8" to make room for new cam driven fuel pump for the new Enderle Buzzard Catcher Injection. Also moving fuel tank from rear to front.

Hope to be ready by April. Actually, hope the checkbook holds out!!! weepy image

Sounds like you're having an off-season that's all but an "off-season"!
Been there done that in the past, just counting my blessings that we have a quiet off-season this year...I needed the break in the breakage!!!!!!

Actually the car's in the best shape now than it's ever been...we were living on borrowed time with the original center section and had been trying to get into a position to replace it before it went but didn't quite make it. We'd planned on replacing the centersection, spool, axles last winter anyway but since it broke before that we also had to replace the driveshaft, transmission, rear suspension. The disc brake project was a bit of an upgrade but we needed to do something with the rear brakes anyway, the front brakes were a bit of a luxury I guess but I felt better about doing them all at one time...the RacingJunk sponsorship money went pretty quickly!
We've raced for around 25 years now and the bracket stuff had me burned out a few years back so we decided tolook at some of the heads-up stuff that was gaining in popularity...we tried ProStock / HotStreet but a few bad engine builders really hurt us in that deal, besides we couldn't compete with the cash in those classes in looking back. We started running in the Open Comp class, which you still get to run the Pro Tree but still has a bracket-type twist to eliminations...we did pretty well at the races we got to but never had enough funds to be able to hit all the events to make a serious run for the title. After winning multiple track championships settling for 8th and 9th place is a bit tough...I really like running with those organizations but going in knowing that your not going to contend for the title is in the back of my mind.
My back is a big factor in why I don't plan on running every weekend anymore, and why trying to run in the bigger series is appealing (four to seven events)...somedays it's brutal getting in and out of the car....it's still fun and if I ever do sell the car I'll definitely miss it and probably end up racing something else!
I'm not a "highly motivated" seller by any means...I'd probably be dis-owned by alot of people if I ever do actually sell the car...still having alot of fun with the car for sure....just wish the back and the pocketbook would allow me to race where my head and heart are.
