Can't seem to get my photos to upload to one of my albums. One of the photos I'm trying to post uploaded fine as the main photo in "my garage".

What is meant by "information bar" with dropdown menu to install the software?

    Can anyone help? Thanks.

The photo uploader we use requires Java in order to run. If you haven't uploaded any albums, you also need to install the little "applet" for the photo uploader itself. First thing, let's make sure you have Java installed.

To find out if Java is installed (Windows):

    1) Click your "start" button.

    2) Click "Control Panel". If you get a window that says "Pick a category" click on the "Switch to Classic View" link on the left.

    3) You should see an icon called "Java". It might be a picture of a coffee cup on a saucer.

If you don't see this "Java" icon:

    Download Java and install it.

(Click the "download" button next to "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7")

If you do see the "Java" icon:

    1) Double click the "Java" icon.

    2) Click on the "Update" tab.

    3) Click the "Update Now" button towards the lower right part of the window.

    4) Follow the instructions to update Java.

Write back if you have any questions.

Until someone more knowledgeable comes along here is what I do to convert to .jpg from bmp. I have a program that I click on save photo as and .jpg is one of the options. When I do not want to bother with that I simply mail the photo to my self and save it as a .jpg. Not sure this will work for you but I hope it helps.

For windows, download the excellent (and free) image viewer called irfanview.

    http://www.irfanview.com/

Load up your bmp, save it as a jpg file.
