When I try to edit the upload section will let me browse to find the picture I want but when I click continue the picture wont get loaded. I still have the deault profile pic. I have tried reducing the size of the photo and tried changing formats jpeg tif gif ect but to no avail.Anything you can tell me? Am I missing a step?

    When you choose a picture, it will upload it right away without leaving the page. You should see a message "Please wait while the photo is uploaded..." When the photo has finished uploading, you should see a thumbnail image of it appear. Does this happen for you? Also, while the image is uploading and you are still on the profile page, clicking the "Continue" button should do nothing. You shouldn't be able to click "Continue" and leave the page until after the photo has been uploaded.

    I just tried uploading a new picture with Internet Explorer 6, service pack 2 and it worked fine. The picture formats we accept are GIF, JPG and PNG. Do you get a JavaScript error? You can look in the lower left hand corner of the Internet Explorer window. You'll see a little exclamation point icon with a yellow triangle background should a JavaScript error occur. Double-clicking this icon will show what the error is.

    Ah. Looks like a security setting in Internet Explorer. Do you know which service packs you have installed on Windows? I'll have to look into this more on Monday to see if there's a workaround. In the meantime, you can download and install the Firefox Web browser, which doesn't have these pesky security settings. We'll get this sorted out somehow.

    Thanks for your patience.

    I made a small change to see if we could work around the problem. Are you able to upload a profile photo now? If you can't, can you give me the following information:

    * Version of Internet Explorer

    * Which Service Packs you have installed for Windows

    * Can you try adding a car to your garage on Motortopia? The form you fill out for a car has the same browse photo field. Does it work when adding a car and not when changing your profile?

    Hope this helps.

    This isn't making sense if both Firefox and Internet Explorer are not working. I've got Windows XP with service pack 2 installed and IE6. It works there. I've also got Windows XP Media Center edition on a computer with IE7 installed and it works. Firefox is working for me on Windows XP pro and media center, Mac OSX and Ubuntu Linux. Do you have any security software on your computer that might be interfering? Anything like spam blockers, anti spyware and anti phishing programs?

    No problem. I love it when the Internet Gnome magically fixes stuff he magically broke. It's kind of like that car where for thousands of miles you hear a whining, squeaking noise, and each time you hear it you think "man, I should get that fixed." Then suddenly it stops squeaking and nothing seems wrong anymore. smile image

    I would like to find out how to edit the phrase under my profile photo. When I go into the edit profile page, I do not see anywhere to do this. Mine presently shows "ME". I would like to be able to change that. scratchchin image confused image weepy image
