I DJ car shows and draw carts at car shows as well. I build model cars and I have about 1000 unbuilt kits waiting to be built. Currently working on models of my HHR and a model of a Canadian GM car, a 68 Beaumont, which looks like a Chevelle with a split Pontiac style grille. No kits are made of these so their is a lot of scratchbuilding going on. I used to draw cartoons in Car Modeller magazine when it existed. I'm a member of several model forums as well.

Well, I was at one time active in the national Audi Quattro Club (webmaster) and now I just run an enthusiast organization for S and RS model Audis.

On Saturday mornings I co-host a local talk radio show about (drum roll please) CARS and their issues. See patsmotorshow.com for a better idea.

When I am not out messing around with my cars (i.e. the winter months) I find myself doing some virtual racing on the PC or Xbox. GT Legends for the PC is a great "winter fix" if you have a PC that will run it and a good wheel and pedals (Logitech G25.)

I also surf ebay a lot looking at... you guessed it.... cars. Yeah, shoot me now, my condition is terminal. biggrin image

When I am NOT doing something car related my other hobby still involves wheels. Bicycle wheels that is! I've been into bikes since the BMX crazed days on the eighties and now I'm strictly a road rider. I'm hoping to do a vintage restoration this winter as well... looking for a classic Italian racing frame to rebuild.

Beyond that... home theater, music, movies, travel, architecture, car magazines. haha

A lot of what I do for recreation is car-related - I've built model cars since I was a kid and formed a model car group here on Motortopia for those of us who still enjoy building our dream cars in scale: Automobile Modelers of Motortopia is open to anyone who enjoys building (or rebuilding) model cars in any scale or media. I've also collected license plates just about forever, and I'm working on collecting complete sets of plates from 1962 (my birth year) and every year from Pennsylvania, my home state. I also have a large collection of vanity plates and historic/classic/antique plates. I collect Corvair toys, models, memoribilia, books, and literature. I collect new and old Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, and matchbox cars when the model interests me. Car shows are nearly an every weekend thing for me from spring through fall, and I like to make it to at least one NASCAR race every year if the money's there for it - Over the past couple of years it hasn't been. We've been to a bunch of tracks on the NASCAR circuit over the years: We've seen races at Dover, Pocono, Darlington, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Martinsville, and been to the tracks at Daytona, Indianapolis, Bristol, Richmond, Kentucky, Rockingham, and Hickory. I have way too much NASCAR stuff cluttering up the house, mostly related to the greatest NASCAR driver that ever was: Dale Earnhardt. (I have a tire from his car from a race he won in the mid-90's.tire image )

My wife Rose (MAXXINE here on Motortopia for those of you who don't know this wonderful woman!) and I make it a point to worship The Lord together every Sunday. This isn't a hobby - it's who we are! We also enjoy going to Minor League baseball games, supporting our favorite teams the AA-Level Reading (PA) Phillies and A-Level Wilmington (DE) Blue Rocks baseball image. Long road trips are something we do as often as time and money allow, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing. Neither of us has a problem flying when time is of the essence, but if we are going a long distance we would much rather take a couple of extra days together and enjoy each other's company on a road trip and see some of this wonderful country we are so blesses to live in.
