I haved a 1950 Dodge Coronet with a gyromatic transmission. Looking for someone who knows about the gyromatic transmission. Sometimes it acts like the clutch is gone. It will grind when trying to put it into gear. If you shut it off, and restart while it is in gear, sometimes it's fine, sometimes it will lunge. The only thing that we have done to the car is to change out the carbeurator from the strohmberg to a Carter, we have had issues ever since ( possibly a linkage problem?) All of the fluid levels are fine. Sometimes it does fine with no problems!
We don't think that it is the oil pump on the transmission, because it grinds going into reverse.

    Any Ideas?
