    what is the easiest way to replace a fuel pump in a fourth gen

    I would follow exactly what the haynes manual says...I have done a few fuel pumps and each is a bit different...If the pushrod inside the motor tends to fall out, sometimes a dab of oil or grease will hold it if the motor is cold. If the motor is hot, check the book for tips, or keep trying until you get lucky...it seems silly, but make sure to put the bolts back in in the order the instructions tell you...that can actually make the alignment a LOT easier!
