   I know I have talked about this before... but the bubble has finally opened up enough to stick my finger in it. I started feeling around and some rust colored stuff along with other "media" started to come out of the hole. I cleaned a lot of it out and I thought I be able to stick my finger through to the other side.... but it stopped. I felt around and behind all the "stuff" was solid metal panel of some sort... I am now very confused as to what I am dealing with... Can someone give me a little advice as to what I am dealing with and what I might be able to do to fix and stop it?

   Sounds like some brand of "bondo" that you are dealing with. If it is a single panel where the hole is and there is solid metal behind the hole you described, you may be able to strip it and the panel be ok. Likely the panel was bent at some point and the body repairman put some "plastic" on the panel to straighten the panel (hopefully that was the case instead of covering rust). These are assumptions based on what you are describing behind the hole.
   
   The only way to be certain of what you have is to 'strip' the panel down to the bare metal and refinish it. If the panel isn't solid once you strip it, you may have to replace that panel which will require some cutting and welding. Without replacing a rusted panel or insuring that your panel is solid and repairing it correctly, you are likely just gonna continue to hide potential problems.

   Thanks Ron... its does. Now I just need to find a good shop that will strip it down to bare metal. Lets hope for the best

   By the way most "body shops " are hesitant to guarantee rust repairs w/o replacing panels or portions thereof. Best of Luck on getting it done tho!
