My Favourite First time Bandit Run moments were hangin with all you guys & seeing all the comraderie & love you all have for these great Trans Ams & of course Smokey & The Bandit movie. I would also like to add that I was made more than welcome by many of you which don't need to be named because there are far too many that made my visit very special & cannot wait to be back for 2012. This run for me was a lifetime experience only dreamed by many & to be a part of it with all you guys was very special to me. You all know who you are that that helped me & I shall never forget the friendship you all have shown. Hope to see all you runners back again for more in May
Singin East Bound & Down with Clint & Loon & Co in a Karaoke Bar in Chattanooga TN @ some stupid hour in the morning was priceless but good fun.If ya can't be good --- be good at it !!!!

So Many but my best memory was when I told some one I got lost on 2010 and they said
"This is the bandit run, you didn't make a wrong turn, or get lost, you were just doing something on your own" Made me laugh!

Well, first of all...we won't talk about the "Love Bugs"!
I think one of my fondest memories was at the Bandit Bash at Jupiter Beach, watching that little old man dance to the music! He was really good! Also I enjoyed the drive on Daytona Beach and meeting up at Hooter's!

I have yet to actually drive 1 mile in a Bandit Run, but I've been to 2 of the Runs, in 2008 and 2010. In 2008 I was at the Bristol Motor Speedway watching everyone take their laps around the track. Wanted to be out there really bad, but it was fun to watch. Here are my pics from that day.

In 2010 I was at Year One on Sunday morning for the kickoff. That close, and couldn't go on the Run.

So we're looking forward to actually being on the Run this year. It will be here before we know it!

There are soooo many great memories! Here's a few more...
'07 - Texarkana to Atlanta - leaving Birmingham following the Hershey's with David hammer down and Lori hanging out the T-Top filming "Little Red TA" with her video camera...then David getting pulled over 'cause Lori didn't have her seat belt on.
Aahhh - Talladega, the museum, and photo with the track behind us!!
'08 - Columbus to Atlanta (Year One) - Running with Clint, Sarge, and RockSho really quickly down the four lane black top from OH to WV to the State House! Wow! what a wild time! And coming through the NC/GA mountains with almost every color of TA made in '78 except black!! - there's a rare moment for a BR !!
'09 - Branson to Atlanta (YO) - running out with PonchoFreek 2 weeks prior, storing the cars, flying home, flying back out, picking up cars on that Sunday night, and beginning the run on Monday am with the group into Harrison for the arrival of THE RIG !!! Running Ole' Route # 7 through the Ozarks into Hot Springs for the convention center event! Wow! How can we forget the HotSprings CC!
Then, into Graceland, and Nashville...with Tyler yelling on the radio "Hey Ron...where'd ya get that seat cover?" Then, dragon's tail!
'10 - Atlanta to Beach Run - the whole dang thing seemed perfect but the part that stands out was the Sherriff Dept Sargeant that was not going to allow us on the Beach for the photo shoot despite mine and Ric's best persuasion UNTIL she walked outside with us and saw Ric's '77 SE. She melted like chocolate in the Daytona sun!! Remember that Ric? And Rando telling 'bout getting pulled over after he exited for a 10-100 just north of Big Daddy Don Garlitt's. Runners you should get Rando to tell you about that stop..."if I say we are going to 1, we ain't going to 1, were going to 3".
'11 - Lincoln to Atlanta (YO) - priceless times with JesupTA and then running to Lincoln with the KC gang the next morning from Liberty MO. All the way back to Snowman's "KEEP" (Wayne & Tanya's) for his antique truck collection and then Mt Vernon!
The whole dang town turned out!! Then Bowling Green, and, and, and, and...
dang it's fun!! "Ready to Roll Roy?"

Well, I wish we had that interview with Ric and the Sargeant on video. It would be worth more than the whole dang SATB movie today - it would be almost - well priceless. When she saw that Black and Gold '77 SE sitting in front of the Volusia County Beach Patrol office on A1A, she really melted. She changed her mind about us driving on the beach faster than the politicians in washington dc!
I telling you the truth, the car is the star of this story... thanks to Ric for driving his car down there to the interview. It was priceless! Im telling you... she came and saw that car and started telling us about all the good times she'd had in High School in 77-78 Trans Ams and it was allllllll over rover!!!
And the rest is history 'cause we (all of us'ns) made the front cover of HP Pontiac a couple of months later....
Hat's off to Ric's car! She's the star!!!!"Ready to Roll Roy?"
