Radio sucks nowadays when it comes to radios and electronic parts. Their motto used to be "You've got questions, we've got answers." Now it's "You've got questions, we've got cellphones."
So very sad. -

I found my old Cb, it's only a 23 channel radio, but can't find the antenna. So I hope Y'all don't use the upper channels. Going to the local truck stop tomorrow to get one.
FWIW, had a guy at a cb shop tell me today, that the hand held CB radios don't get out very far.Keep on Pontiyakkin'

One more thing... "good buddy" doesn't mean what it used to. Now it means homosexual. (seinfeld)not that there's anything wrong with that.(/seinfeld). Use "Good neighbor" or "Neighbor" or whatever everyone else is using.
In the interests of not looking like idiots, or potentially pissing off people whose vehicles are even bigger than mine is.

I will be running a CB in my car also, The unit is a Uniden Pro 538W (about $100), it is unique because it has a built in weather channel so I can listen to the National Weather Service were ever and when ever I want too. This has been very useful at car shows away from home so I can keep a eye on those storms that have a tendency to pop up, expecially in Texas and drop hell. I didn't even know this was a option on CB's until I saw this one, I am sure other brands offer this feature if you don't like the Uniden brand. I also am using one of the glass mounted antenias, because anything touching my paint makes me a nervous wreck. I am told the window antenia shortens the range to a couple of miles but is held in place with double sided adhesive and can be removed fairly eazy. I am so Pumped !!! One week to go!!! -

I was thinking we need to get a list of peoples handles together before hand because if we have 90 CB's and most people are driving T/A's it's going to be tough to figure out who were talking to. A little blurb of why you use the handle might be fun too. So here's mine.
"REDMAN"
I have used redman for years due to the red dirt we have here in Oklahoma and I used to drive a big red 4x4.
I'll be in a Black 81 Trans Am with orange decals.

Damn! I picked up one of those today for the run. I wanted the smaller one, but my hubby wanted this one. I asked him what is it about you guys and size?
I'm having it installed this weekend.
Anyway, he's never had a CB so he'll be hyper and having fun while I drive. We haven't thought of a handle for him yet, but I'm easy to find -- Bird Lover -- what else?

Got me a hand held CB a couple days ago, and definitely has very low signal strength, so I'll hopefully be driving very close to someone with a CB. I tested it on a busy interstate and only picked up one conversation in an hour's time, and it was only because I was driving right behind a pair of truckers talking back and forth. Oh well, too late to change now!
I guess my handle will be the same as my personalized license plate - "J Hock".
Same one I've had since high school in '82!
