Scatpack and I have teamed up to turn his truck into a real Smokey and the Bandit rig. We need alot of donations. Dave Hall and I have emailed several times and we realize it is a long shot, especially with the economy. But we got to try. I would rather try and fail, than not to try at all.

I have already contacted Kenworth and Jerry Reed, I am waiting on replies. I have posted all the information and pictures on my website. http://www.sm...n_s_Truck.php

We need help and any ideas are welcome. The bandit run itself was an idea at one time that turned into a fun event. My hope is that in May 2008 smiling bandit runners are having their picture made with the truck in actual movie locations. I can't imagine the media coverage with a real Kenworth in the convoy.

I also hope the dream makes it in web forums and chat rooms, CB talk and truck stops. The more publicity the better. I am contacting any organiztion that I think might be interested in helping. We are just starting so please understand. Thanks for your support.

You should just contact the guys in Joplin, Mo. that do the show on CMT's "Trick My Truck". I think they would certainly have the capabilities to rebuild original Kenworth to a tee. Possibly make it a duel build. In the first half hour build a replica of the original Kenworth in S&B. Then another half hour dedicated to a modern S&B rig to be a matching pair for Yearone's modern version of the Bandit. I would think it would be a no brainer on their part and CMT's to do a show on it due to the potential viewership. Also considering a possible appearance by Jerry Reed or Burt Reynolds along with some participation by Kevin at YearOne and Dave at Restore a Muscle Car to make it all come to a head at this years, or possibly next years Bandit Run, the possibilities are endless. Everyone involved would get some well deserved exposure on CMT in front of an audience perfect for this event. Hell, DIY could do another "Celebrity Rides" five part series on it. Seems like there could be enough revenue from television commercials during the programs on CMT and DIY alone to pay for the project. All the while it would put a bigger spotlight on the Bandit Run which would bring more exposure to Restore a Muscle Car and Year One to ensure this will continue to be an annual event to benefit all of us for years to come.

Hell, if there was enough exposure maybe the state of Georgia would make some of the shooting locations historical landmarks. Maybe that's reaching a bit, but I think everything else seems realistic, I'd surely watch it. Just some ideas, Willy.

That sounds pretty cool Tyler. Actually Danny, Scatpack, really wants to do most of the work himself or at least have the money himself to do it. The decal is really what he wants the donations for. I am his girlfriend by the way. He didn't want to seem like he was asking too much in the way of donations for the whole truck, just mainly the decal for the trailer which will probably be the biggest cost. If someone wanted to donate something else, like a truck part they just happened to have or know where to get it, that would be fine or their time to help Danny out with the truck sometime would be fine too.

Just wanted to make things alittle bit more clear on what you all would be donating for. It would be for the decal first and then any extra would be for fuel or maybe something the truck needed. Danny is going to try hard to have the truck done for the Bandit Run in May, meeting everyone in GA. If not he is going to try and have it road worthy just to be there even though it wouldn't be totally done. He said he would at least try and have it painted black.

Thanks to everyone who supports this big project, it is very much appreciated.

And to those that donate, many thanks. Also I will try to give rides to those that donate a generous amount.

To who and where do I send it if I were to make a donation?
