Debbie, you did an outstanding job.
I like some of the ideas but I think the Bandit Run is an event by itself. We don't need to merge with other events. The friendships build the run and we need the hotel parking lots and the venues to ourselves to build the friendships.
Pam and I drove the Natchez Trace coming down to Vicksburg. It's like the Blue Rige Parkway and we had a really nice time but 40 and 50 mph speed limits on 2 lane roads wouldn't do with the Bandit Run--if you could talk the national park service into closing down the road and letting us go that would be different. If we use the old 4 lane roads like highway 40, 50, or 36 I think we could get some scenic cruise time but I think we need the interstates to generate the attention.
Seems to me like we have about a 4 hour attention span for activites other than hotel parking lots. We need to look really hard at any event that wants us to be around for longer.
The south is where the people who drive Trans Ams live. We won't get the attention in the north that we get in the south.GTO Stan

.
Agreed 100%.
If we start to merge with other events, that will only dilute the Bandit Run to the point of it being a side show act instead of the main attraction.
Let's keep the Bandit Run unique from all the other cross country drives!
Of course, this is just my opinion.

Thanks Debbie C., Dave, Michelle, Solargold, Shaker and all who put a lot of time and energy into the run, it was a great time for Sharon and I and meet a lot of new friends. Being from the flatlands of Nebraska it was awesome to view all the greenery
of the open roads that you all had lined up for us.
I know that it takes a lot of work even thinking about any location for the run, so rest and talk it over, right now thats what we are doing. I do like the Dakota's, but the weather can be a little cool until after mid-June, but it is beautiful. The area has a lot of things to do, but I have not been there in ten years. I see Las Vegas brought up and I know that would be a long haul for most of the runs that went this year and
Year One is a great host. So what ever the planners wish as they work so hard on this and what ever the planners come up with, Sharon and I are okay with!
Thanks again

I mentioned Carlisle, PA and their events....didnt mean it to come across as to merge the events....just thought it would be good as a side trip if the BR did another "free day" like they did with Biloxi. There is also the factory outlet malls in Reading, PA and Maple Grove Raceway both of which are only about 80 miles east of Carlisle. Then dont forget about all of those curvy mountain road and covered bridges to see.
If you wanted to keep it in the south, theres always Bowling Green, KY....the National Corvette Museum (great fun), the Corvette assembly plant, Beech Bend Raceway, Mammoth Cave, Lost River Cave.
Gatlinburg, TN always appreciates car folks and once again, alot to do with beautiful scenery.
Chatanooga, TN.....Ruby Falls, Lookout Mtn and Lord knows what else.Proud owner of an underpowered Trans Am clone

I really don't want to do the Corvette Museum or Assembly plant. I'm just not a fan of Chevy.

Ill bring my golfclubs....and show you how to hit a 280 yrd drive with 1 hand....
i Dont care where the run goes....im thrown out suggestions......and CArlisle would be Huge for Restore a Musclecar Exposure........Huge. Thats why i chimed in on Carlisle. Plain ole just doesnt mattter to me.......Im thinkin Big Picture for Dave Hall......and the Return He Gets on This Bandit Run.
And HEY.....Why couldnt the run Come up North.......More people watched that movie in the North (due to demographics) than anywhere in the world..
Maybe a FALL Trip thru the Beuatiful Foliage up North.....Many many Colors ...Like a Bowl of Fruitloops.....is a sight to see. NY, Vt, NH, Pa, MA...ect
HOW ABOUT CRASHN THE PARTY AT STURGIS South Dakota.......When the Bikes Are there.........IMO we can go to any party....and Make a Big Presence. Again you would have THOUSANDS and Thousands....exposed to the Bandit Run...and Restore a Musclecar.....
.....Keep talkn / thinkn.......you know the rule....if you come up with 10 ideas......1 is probably good. So lets get 40 ideas....so we hv 4 to pick from.
