Loon here,
I felt compelled to post today. I know a lot of us feel the same way, but this RUN has grown to be so much more for me than just a vacation with my car. I have met and made so many close friends through the Bandit Run.... so much so that I can't imagine it not occurring. Much has happened in my life since my first RUN in 09, good and bad, but through it all I have relied on faith, family and friends. Many of those times the family part was a Bandit Runner whether it be at the TA Nationals, or a timely phone call from GA, OK, MI or someplace else. People treating me like family, just being there for each other... Family. That's really what happens on this RUN; you become part of a Family.
Last year I bought and drove a 99 TA Firehawk on the Run. As some of you know, I sold that car to my brother Bob, and while the Bandit drove a TA, I have always been a Formula guy... I don't know why for sure, just who I am. Anyway, this year I will be bringing back my Formula. Like for most of us here, these cars become more than they are. We pour time and love into them and they become part of us. If one your friends are describing you to someone, who doesn’t know you and your car is mentioned, you get this!
The Formula is who I am… she is ½ the “Loon”.
It is through these bonds, that when you come on the RUN, you find like minded souls.... and become family
So yeah… the Loon is SO ready for the family reunion 2011 syle!
Thanks
to the original 2007 Runners and all those that have kept on Runnin
to Dave Hall and everyone at Restore a Muscle Car
to Kevin King and everyone at Year One
to Tyler and everyone that got and keep the Rig going
to Adam and Clint for continuing to keep Buford chasing that sum beech
to Debbie …. and everyone else that works hard to keep this going, I know there are many more.

I will definitely miss you this year Loon. Be safe and have a good time. Every time I set up a new event this year, I got excited, and then remembered-hey we're not going.
But I know y'all will have a blast. We'll catch you next year or maybe at POCI in July. Debbie

Awesome post! I know exactly what you mean about a car becoming part of you. I just mentioned to someone today about how some cars become like a member of the family. This is our first year for the Run and we are so excited! All of our "not car people" friends give us a look that says they are humoring us when we talk about how much fun it's going to be, but that's okay, we know they just don't "get it".
My husband (myblkrat) and I are really looking forward to meeting all of you and I know we'll make some lifelong friendships while enjoying our car with others who DO "get it"!

No, I'll be attending a 3.5 week school in Fort Eustis, VA. I've had it planned since last year and need to attend it to get promoted to SFC. I will be there for 2012 unless our unit gets hit with and earlier deployment date. Currently sometime in 2013 we'll be taking a trip across the pond.
Thanks again for the 2009 T-shirt! It gets warn alot. It's hard to find a t-shirt that doesn't have something to do with Pontiac or Trans Am in my dresser.
Take care All!How's this thing go back together???
