To whom this may concern, I'd like to offer what ever extra help that may be needed on this years Bandit run.
This will be my second run, and the first one that I plan on going the whole distance and I think it's only right to pay it forward, so to speak.

I have been going through alot of the past years threads, and it struck me that it seems like the same group of people take the lead in getting this event off the ground and running smoothly, and I know it's never as easy as it looks.

So let me know what I might be able to do to help make this years run go as smoothly as possible, Dave (RAMC), Debbie C, Red...whoever, just let me know.

      Leon:
I will definitely keep your kind offer in mind. Red asked me to help a few years ago and now it is my full-time job, lol. Seriously, I use to work in PR planning conferences, organizing media, writing press releases, etc. so this event was a perfect fit for me. I love that I can use my skills and stay somewhat active in the business. However, there are lots of folks behind the scenes who help everyday. I talk to Dave and Michelle every step of the way.I don't think folks appreciate how much of their time they devote to the run. Pat at Year One always helps to set up events in their area and offer contacts and support. Red's business has been crazy but he is always available for consultation. Not to mention he makes a great point man on the run. My long-suffering husband, Mark, is always there to lend a hand or offer advice. He pitches in whenever or wherever I need him. Mike (Solargold) has been a huge help this year in planning. Also James (Heritage Brown) has been my "man-on-site" in TX, AR, and LA this year. Ron (Shaker) calls me a few times a month to offer his expertise. Tyler, Wayne, Greg, Robert (and their wonderful spouses) work hard to help make this run special. That truck sells itself when I am trying to set-up events. semitrailer image Brock works hard on the maps and books. Ric is a sounding board and helps as needed. His website is awesome and he creates videos for us every year. Last year Marcia was a huge help in Chattanooga and Manny in Saint Louis. Shain is eager to help this year and I know he will be there when needed. I guess what I am trying to say is that although RAMC, Red, and myself seem to be the ones putting this together, there are lots of unsung heroes making us look good. applause image
I know I have forgotten some folks. Hopefully, they'll forgive me. blush image

So if you want to help, send me a pm with your cell number. I'll add you to my list of folks I can call on.

      Thanks Deb

      Leon--

I can't begin to tell you how great it is to have you volunteer to help and, as Red and Debbie have stated, there are and have been a lot of unsung supporters throughout the years to make it all happen. The Bandit Run has been successful due to the sweat equity and generous financial contributions of a few great sponsors and the Bandit Runners themselves.

I wanted to acknowledge the sacrifices everyone has made to keep the rig rolling...it's a grass roots, non-profit effort and it hasn't been cheap (fuel costs are a only a portion of the overall expenses--repairs, taxes, maintenance, and insurance are sobering and make you appreciate what truckers must deal with in order to make a living). For everyone that has purchased a t-shirt(s) or thrown some money in the kitty, THANK YOU. Please continue to support Tyler and the trailer team!

As long as we all are willing to roll up our sleeves, do what we can, and not allow anyone on the "core team" to burn out, we'll continue to have fun.

      Continue to count me in!

Thanks Debbie, By no means was I meaning to step on anyones toes here by not mentioning their names, I only included you 3 as the most visible ones on this forum.
I'm sure there are a great many people that make this thing work, and I just didn't want to take it for granted that the Bandit Run will always be here for us to enjoy.

I think everyone involved have been outstanding for seeing this "one-time" event grow into an annual event that people from all across the country look forward to.
I also mean to include our friends outside the USA that make the trip, without this group willing to spend the gas money and risk damage to their cars we wouldn't have anything.

Like I said, keep me in mind if you need another person to join the team, and I'll see what I can do to help.

And let this be a challenge to the other runners out there. I'f you think you can spare the time to give a hand to this fine group, step up and see what happens. If you care about what goes on here, and I know most of us do, then be willing to ask if you can help, it can only benefit the whole group in the end, and then we ALL win!

Thanks for letting me shoot my face off!
