After talking it out with my father, looks like we would be hitting Dallas Friday afternoon, but we don't see a hotel for 177 more miles... so if there was a meet up or event Friday night in Dallas, we'd be there, otherwise we'll cruise through to Texarkana Friday night.

My current plan is to leave Friday from north Dallas sometime early to mid-afternoon (making sure we clear rush hour traffic) for Texarkana. Check out a map, Jackie and I will most likely elect to take the Sam Rayburn tollway (previously known as SH121) to SH380 to Greenville and then I-30 on to Texarkana.
James and I are working feverishly on the '73 trying to get it ready and am still holding out hope of taking two cars (the '76 being the other car) with fuel prices at the time and car readiness being the deciding factors.
As we get a bit closer to the date, let me know your exact timing. We'd still like to convoy!

Hey, you'll be going right by my house, and that's about the same time that we plan to leave too (assuming that we get the car done). Convoy? -

Let's plan on connecting sometime Friday afternoon...
FOXY--
If you're coming directly from the airport or from a hotel somewhere close to DFW, the Sam Rayburn tollway (known as SRT and previously SH121) starts to the northeast of the airport and is about a thirty minute drive passing close to the house.

Where would be a good place to rendevous for you?

Glad to hear you're coming in a little early to check out the local sights here in Dallas/Fort Worth! If you haven't been to the stockyards previously, you're in for a treat (and be sure to spend some time at Billy Bob's).
I'll figure out a good spot to rendevous and will send the address.

Sounds like a plan, Foxy. By the way, here is a photograph I took in front of the Hyatt (I had friends visiting from Sydney last September) where you'll be staying. Sad to say she turned in the saddle just as I snapped her photo--and yes, she was actually riding this longhorn, not statically posing for pictures.
Only in Texas, my friend. Only in Texas. It's a whole other country.
Cheers, mate.
