Many of you know RickeyBoobie my guitar playing passenger on the bandit run 2011. Well RickeyBoobie (Benny) called me tonight from a hospital in Georgia he is in the ICU there after a car accident. He was really out of it, (he does not know what hospital he is in) and just got his cell charged up to call his family and me. I will post when I find out more information, sorry.
From what I could discern from him. He had some kind of seizure related to an electrolyte imbalance (low potassium and low sodium) this caused him to loose consciousness and drive across 4 lanes of traffic then crash into a building (I think he said a bakery.. not sure.)
He was on his way home from his dads house in North Georgia. He is in the ICU for observation due to the loss of consciousnesses and to correct his electrolytes. (From my experience in the ICU this is not uncommon after this sort of problem)
His car is "totaled" (kind of sucks because he just got the car 1-2 months ago) but luckily no one was injured, so that is a blessing.
Like I said he was really out of it but told me he mother and sister were going to be there in the morning so I will talk to her then and update here on the post. He really cares about all the runners, and tells me he cant wait until next year. I asked him if it was OK to post here about the accident and his status, and he said that would be alright to let you all know.
I will try to post tomorrow

Benny is here they are moving him out of the ICU tomorrow. His family is at his bedside and he is doing better. His neuro status has improved, he wanted to thank all of you who directed prayers and wishes his way.

Talked to Benny tonight on the phone.
He is out of the ICU and has been moved to a regular room. He says he is feeling a little out of it still, but no brain bleeding (the doctors were worried about this due to the trauma of the accident) So he had to stay a little longer in the ICU. He still can't walk with out a nurse and a walker.
His employer has been good about it so he has not lost his job or anything so that is good. His mother is still at his bedside god bless her. He can't get to a computer so if you PM'ed him that is why he has not replied. He appreciated all the posts, I read them to him over the phone. He says he is eating 3 meals a day and feeling more like himself. He said that he may discharge Saturday or Sunday. He also says he is still excited about the 2012 Bandit Run.
