      Solargold,
How far do you live from where Zig Ziglar, Jerry Clower, and other famous folks were from? I recall someone stated they only had 12 folks in the whole town & at least 6 of them were famous! scratchchin image

Zig said they had to widen Main street just to pave the stripe down the middle! rotfl image

Is Yazoo City in Madison County as well?

Just curious. Always sounded like a nice place (yet funny as a dickens to hear Zig and Jerry tell about it!).
      lmao image

Yazoo County is the next county north of me, so very close. The town is all but dried up. I know there's a witch buried in the Yazoo Cemetery. Lots of famous people from the state including Jimmy Buffett, LeAnne Rhimes, Morgan Freeman, Faith Hill, Archie Manning, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kermit the Frog... The list goes on and on. Jerry Clower was a funny man. Locals say he was very different in person though.

I'm not going to ask how you know there is a witch buried there.

We have several famous folks from this area two but I'll only mention some that are from OUTSIDE Atlanta and on the BR route this year...

Jerry Reed was from GA. Kim Basinger (Athens) once owned the town of Braselton before selling to an investment group (The BR starts in Braselton). We are likely to pass through Monticello (Trisha Yearwood) and Macon (the birthplace of Southern Rock) with the likes of The Allman Brothers and Capricorn Records! Jason Aldean is from Macon.

This years' Bandit Run will be a blast as in previous years! That's even BEFORE we make into FL! wink image

The witch's burial site is actually part of an annual school tour. She's there alright and the Queen of the Gypsy's is buried in Meridian, MS.

Jerry Reed was from GA. Kim Basinger (Athens) once owned the town of Braselton before selling to an investment group. (The BR starts in Braselton this year just in case you might be wondering.)

I remember Kim buying a town, had no idea it was Braselton, WOW. Can we stop buy her house before we leave biggrin image

Yeah, Madison County. And I see you know about Kudzu. If you ever see it on the moon I know who made the recommendation to NASA (Pruitt Calvert). Said it would make a prettier green backdrop than that ash white lmao image

You may be interested to know a friend of mine, Sam W. had his 67 Pontiac GTO on the cover and featured in the December 2009 High Performance Pontiac Magazine. (Also someone's 76 Trans Am). Sam's dad bought the GTO new and it is still in the family.

WOW, any man that keeps a car that clean for 42 years has my sincere admiration. That is one special GTO and the article reads like he still gets after it once in a while. To me, that's what it's all about. I've been to the last 3 nationals so we've probably swapped stories at some point.

Our GTO is new by comparison. We've only had it for 35 years. But when it's time to cruise (more than an eighth) with 3.90 gears we need to stay in the slow lane. When it's time to really go somewhere it has to be one of the Trans Ams.

She is no longer around. I forgot to mention though that Jason Aldean is from Macon as well if your a "New Country Music" Fan. Luke Bryan is from Albany and the Tifton Planners mentioned asking him to do a concert for us May 16... got to be a long shot though! scratchchin image
