474 cubic inches as it sets. with 10.5 to 1 compression
455 Pontiac 1975 Block bored .060 over
430 Gram Ross Forged Pistons
6.8 inch forged Eagle H-Beam Rods
4.25 Crank
Edelbrock heads
Dougs Headers
Comp Cam... Secret
Per Jim Butler specs the engine should be in the 520hp range at 5700rpm. I will believe it once it is broken in and dyno tuned.
Turbo 400 transmission built extra stout with a 2800 stall.
3.08 rear end gears for highway flying. -

Man, that sure would be nice... but we're just trying to get the 78 on the road reliable for the run... just pulled the 60 pound paperweight called the catalytic converter.. lol.. going straight pipe with it...
But we're not expecting TOO much in the way of performance.. so if they run off.. we'll be right there with you...

Don't worry about the power guys! The stock ones always catch up to the faster ones on the open road. The only time they left me last year was during a red light start!! Otherwise, I stayed up REAL fine in a stock 403 and usually up front of the pack! The thing about running off and leaving the pack is that you don't give the camera cars a chance to set up ahead and take video footage or 35MM/Digital photos of you.
It'll be a blast!!!
