Come on Daytona, lets race.. biggrin image , anyway, been working on my buddy ,mikes 78 formula, he's die hard about getting this car in the run this year, so Im trying, also finishing up some detail items on the blue car, new tires on, ordered a rebuild carb kit from cliffs carburators, tell ya what. that a smart man, he knows so much about todays fuel that he sending me better jets, seals, springs, gaskets, and a kit to repair my worn throttle shaft bushings for a heck of a price. smile image if any of ya;ll can rebuild your own carbs, get the kit from him. one thing he said that makes a bunch of sense, is " Todays fuels dont have the energy it did in the 80's , so better jets are needed, also the ethanol, destroys seals and some of the internals if let to sit in a carb".the turbo 301 carb is unique, so gonna take his advice and freshing it up ...again..still gotta do drivers seat foam, and them just a detail....on the body.....Hows everyone else doing? hyper image

W E L L... In the throes of finishing aftermarket wiring on the 81.Need to finish up vapor canister and fuel lines. Connect starter and listen to her run. Then she's off to paint ! Followed by interior install and completion of some minor details ! Picked up driveshaft today . Will button up suspension with Dan @ G&S and have him install the PYPES exhaust system which I will get next month,Then a roadtrip with Aaron following (Co builder on the Basketcase). Maybe if all this gets done I will finally have a 2ND gen capable of making the run economically! hyper image lmao image biggrin image hyper image lmao image biggrin image tongue image tongue image

I would like to get new tires and wheels but doesn't look like it will happen. This trip alone will cost roughly 1500. You guys all rob banks or something to afford to do all this stuff to your vehicles? lmao image So much I would like to do, but isn't going to happen frown image I am still trying to decide what car to bring, scratchchin image the 79 would be more fun but also more costly and not sure if it would make it through the whole trip. The 01 bird would be more gas friendly, I guess will see when time comes....huh
