I did that too when i installed my ST-10 LOL..... had to flip the bars around to point up and not down. They sure fit well pointed down though.....

Feeling the pressure of getting the car(s) ready for BR 2012...yes, cars plural. Aside from hope springing eternal that I'll still be able to take both the '73 Trans Am and the '76 Trans Am on the 'Run, worst case is that I'm assured a back-up if one has trouble at the last minute.

Got the '73 back from my mechanic today, rear wheel cylinders have been rebuilt and the A/C is once again blowing cold. Had the aftermarket American Sunroof t-tops professionally tinted (55% reduction in UV, 63% reduction in heat), installed a new arm rest on the center console and made sure the new Uniden CB was working. Discovered something was wrong with the old RadioShack CB in the '76 (transmits but does not receive), swapped it out with a spare, new Cobra and everything works great.

Still a boatload to do on both cars NOT including final cleaning so will be busy in the evenings for the next couple of weeks!

I must admit, I got a bit of a kick hearing myself on the other CB in each car as I was doing the final test. Mercy sakes, yer blowin' my doors off, son!

Finally got the T/A to the dealership, and put it up on my rack.
Changed the rear pinion seal and filled the rear end with Royal Purple Synthetic gear lube.
Changed the engine oil, topped up all the other fluids.
Double check the front wheel bearings and front brakes.
At this point, I'm going to leave it alone and consider it ready to go.
I did throw a CB in it for this run, but will do something more better for next year.

I happened to get my wife to go along this year, and she bought a Kindle Fire to bring along.
She said she feels she needs something to keep her eyes busy so she won't be freaked out when looking over at the speedometer confused image

Not sure what she thinks the problem will be, but I told her the speed is relative, when we are all running 80, bumper to bumper, it seems nice and cozy!

ah hell, she's going to love it! biggrin image wink image

The cars are looking wonderful Tinman!

Leon, wish I could get my gal to go but she's just not interested in doing the whole run... we'll see her in my other car once we get back to Year One for the Bash on Saturday!

      D,
How's it going? It looks like it will be down to the wire to get this car together. Hoping to have it to drive 1 maybe 2 days prior to Friday the 11th. I'm stressing out! Hope the Basket Case makes it!

      Welp...

Here's a list of things either I or a mechanic has performed on the '79...

      - New valve cover gaskets installed - (rubber w/steel inserts)
      - AC system vacuumed and charged
      - New Thermostat installed
      - New Intake Gasket installed and Intake repainted
      - One reman Carb then a New Carb installed - still not the correct one
      - rebuilding another carb now as we speak (correct Rochester Quadrajet)
      - cooling system flush being run through car as I drive around with the wrong carb
      - AC fan blower went out after AC charged... replaced fan motor and...
      - replaced heater hoses while inner fender was taken off

Good News - AC is cooling well!

      Still to Do:
      - fix slow power steering leak
      - Drain the Radiator Flush and replenish Coolant/Water % in Radiator.
      - New Dash plate to install this weekend
      - New Driver's seat track to install
      - New cigar lighter to install while dash is out to correct short circuit & blown fuses
      - change oil, check tire pressure, all fluid levels

Wash and Wax and leave for Texarkbanana!!!
