Got the exhaust on... the tires are here and I thought I had everything covered. Then what do ya know... they told me at the exhaust shop that I had a leak around the intake. banghead image I took it back to the mechanic and he wasn;t there so I went over to the engine builders and had his crew look at it. Turns out my mechanic ordered the wrong set of intake gaskets (guess he thought all intake gaskets fit all intake/head combos). censored image My builder ordered the right set of gasket and they will be here tomorrow morning. But if my mechanic is as slow as he has been recently it will take lord knows how long just to fix this and get the engine timed correctly and idle set right on the carb. punch image I am going to stay on him to get it done tomorrow so I can drive it to get used to it. convertible image Hope to be ready this weekend. Talk about cutting it close.

Take a deep breathe,.......thats a easy repair,I think thats there a good hand full of us people who are all trying to get our cars ready for the trip....just keep doing once overs on your car, double check everything,In the last 38 days, I replaced every rubber bushing, trans seals,u joints, shocks, completely rebuilt engine, front ball joints, tie rod ends,Ac system, exhaust(being done) today, headliner, Cb install,belts/hoses/, etc....and any of the little things I missed, once I get the car back from exhaust shop, gotta drive baby drive, felt good though..just cant wait to really drive her..The carb is the biggest factor as I am trying to tune it to get the best fuel economy...If needed I can walk you threw the whole R+R process on your car , just Pm me......keep the faith,Americans dont give up, when our backs against the wall we do our best work........ hyper image Is it happy hour yet? tongue image

I'm in the same boat Reb. biggrin image

But my motor is out of my car at the builders getting some work done. Hope to have it back tomorrow, if not, then Monday. That would leaves me three days to get it in, running/tuned, then head out for the Run. eye-popping image

Hoping for tomorrow in a big way. thumbsup image

got good news hyper image ... after initially beating my head on the wall banghead image and pulling out my hair trying to convince my mechanic that I had gotten the right set of gaskets... he listened and we got them on... put the intake back on and hooked everything back up. She started up.. we found a couple of small leaks... tightened up a couple of header bolts and replaced a small gasket (we ended up making them ourselves) and that was that. We got her timed and got the idle set and she starts up right and runs right and sounds good (i'll post a new video tomorrow). Tomorrow we'll be buttoning everything up (lights and anything else that shows up) and then on Saturday new tires get on. I'll be driving her steeringwheel image and getting used to her next week.. then it'll be time for the Run. convertible image banana image bananawoot image bananadance image

Well, we are officially out npw for the run. My 95 still not fixed. New gm perf reman trans, new puter and programmed. Still not pulling in d and od. Now we are tryi.g to track down a possible short somewhere. Buuuut, may be working out. A deal to pick up a new ride outside of Jupiter. So we may be there with TA in tow for the Jupiter Bash. Keeping fingers crossed that we can make this happen.

Good luck to you all who are still thrashing, hope it all works out for yall.

Yo Matt, Just curious , is your ABS lite on?, The Vehicles speed passes thru the anti-loc module before the signal is sent to the ECM, I have seen new trans, computers and other parts replaced, and all it was , was the anti-loc module,The trans wont shift up into the final drive if the VSS is off or theres no or eratic signal.... just throwing that out there...Good luck////////////
