Well, with my engine builder dragging his heels on the blue one, looks like I might be driving the "little red TA" this year! Took all the spoilers off and had them repainted this past week. Met Ponchofreek's painter named "Bob" (there is a story there for the BR) who turned the job in three days. Just have to service the car and get rear wheel brake cylinders done on the 4WD (4 wheel disk) and she should be good to go. Really will miss driving "Blue" this year but ready to go either way!

Yes Sir. When they're in they are locked. I've seen a few at the strips launch and bye bye t-top due to the flex in the body causing the handle to move easily when not locked.
Or a guy I knew had a passanger and they were going around a corner, the budy riding shotgun grabed the handle thinking it was an O-$h@t handle and there went the t-top.How's this thing go back together???

The '76 will be making it's third run this year with new leaf springs, a corrected and revised exhaust system (going with Magnaflow and getting rid of the Spin-Techs, too much resonance at highway speeds). I'm also hoping to get the paint damage on the front left fender repaired.
I'm also trying to bring the Brewster Green '73 for the first time, I'm just about to tear into it and plan on doing the following:
New dash
New dash wiring harness
Reburbish the gauges
New AutoSound radio and CD changer
New Cobra CB radio w/antenna
Sound deadener
New door panels
Complete drive-train, fuel system, brake, power steering, A/C and electrical inspection, replacing or repairing anything not up to par
New heater core
Flush cooling system
Replace the thermostat
Belts and hoses
New tires
...and finally, a good, thorough cleaning
Starting soon, it looks like I won't have many free weekends until May.

Quick update, the '76 is in the shop getting new motor mounts. I still need to get the exhaust system addressed and will forego the paint repair until after the run.
Regarding the '73--with MANY thanks to 7879TA (Heritage Brown) and his wife, we're making progress. Here are a few photos:

The new dash, heater core, gauges, Custom Autosound radio, in dash speakers, carpet, power booster, master cylinder, tires, CB antenna lead, and LED tail lights (yes!) are installed. We passed on the sound deadener and dash wiring harness as the originals were still in good condition--but we still have a lot left to check off of the list and a few other things we had to add. BTW, 7879TA really knows how to clean up an engine compartment and is a great friend for doing so!
Coming down to the wire!

Yeah, it's about time to get the cobwebs out of the carbs and rust out of the exhaust. Crank 'em and drive 'em guys and gals.... the BR is just around the corner.
P.S. - Don't forget to check the fluids, tires, and gas gauge. There's nothing worse than sitting beside the road in your beauty ---- out of gas.

I forgot about that Solargold. It was actually directed at myself who have done as you... on the phone... didn't watch the gauge, etc, etc, etc.
That was a few years ago though and I wasn't in my TA... it was worse... I was in a newer rental car with warning beeps and buzzers...
