May 28, 2010 at 11:58 pm: Rose brings up the saddest incedent of the convention: A couple at the convention from Georgia were tail-ended - HARD! - during the Road Rally by another tourist unfamiliar with the area (As I recall, from Florida). It had been raining off and on all throughout the event, and at that time it was coming down hard! This was not the car, although it was another V-8 conversion. The car involved had an aluminum Buick 215 engine out back where the stock Corvair engine normally sits. The car was a write-off, but the people were unhurt other than a few bruises. (Unsafe, Mr. Nader? I don't think so!)
