Aug 17, 2009 at 6:08 pm: It's just wrong, My dad 82 who is on a fixed income of 1,000 dollars a month is in need of a vehicle ( his transmisson just went out in his 88 dodge caravan with over 200,000 miles on it) cannot afford to go into debt for ANY car. These cars and trucks being destroyed BY OUR TAX DOLLARS look nicer than anything he has ever driven. It makes me angry that THEY think this is going to solve the problem !!!!

And if it is true, I agree with "speedinta"......the dealership should have bought the Vette outright and resold it.

Some one posted on one of the Trans Am sites I visit a story about a neighbor that traded in an original owner, garaged kept, late-third generation Trans Am that was also a nice car and will now be destroyed. He said he would have bought the T/A from the neighbor for more than the $3500 voucher given had he known what he was doing.

Aug 15, 2009 at 12:40 pm: This the ultimate act of stupidity! O the part of the "MORON" who traded it in and the dealer! Doesn't that dealer know that if he bought it for 4500 he could have resold it privately for almost double?? They didn't even have to get the cash for clunkers deal involved!

Aug 15, 2009 at 3:01 am: this is exactly the thing i figured would happen. people go around and just trade in any car just to get the hands on a brand new fusion or cobalt.....whats the point even with the money they gained from trading in a great car like that corvette in the end they will end up not being able to afford the payments and their cars get repoded. than they will be left saying "man i should have just kept my corvette" i am not ashamed to say this...i wish Bush was still president.

That car was obviously in great condition, and the engine sure put up a great fight - those idiots poured way too much of that gunk into it and it still ran for nearly four minutes.

This administration is out of control, meddling in private business and causing things like this to happen. It's absolutely unconscionable! And he won't lift a finger to help people who work hard and still need help due to his misguided meddling in othre things! Now he wants to cram "Health Care Reform" down our throats. Using our tax dollars to murder unborn children (a.k.a. Abortion) and provide "End Of Life" counciling (a.k.a. assisted suicide). Higher taxes, more handouts, more Welfare, bigger Government! It's no wonder Obama's approval ratings have plummeted more than any postwar president so quickly.
