1937 Ford Slantback (money pit)
Last updated Jan 28, 2014
I found this car in Edmonton, Alberta after looking around for quite a while for a slant back. (I had just sold my 1938 Coupe and was looking for another project). After talking to the owner and seeing pictures, it sounded like I could drive it home, so my friend & I headed out to Alberta to pick it up. Well after a couple of hours of being on the road we ran into problems with the rear end and had to get a trailer to bring it home. The process then began of stripping the whole car down to rebuild. Of course, this is where we run into hidden surprises that we didn't know about.. The car was a frame off restoration, with a new chassis & GM crate engine being added. The project was completed the late summer of 2013. We still managed to put 3,000 mi. on it and are looking forward to putting many more on this summer.
