1951 Willys Jeep MC M38 US Army (M38)
Last updated Mar 13, 2012
Original 1951 Willys Jeep model MC M38. Korean war era jeep built by Willys for use by US military from 1950-52. Approx 75,000 of this model military jeep were built. The 'Last of the true flat fendered jeep. A step up mechanically from the WW II MB/GPW. Probably the finest military jeep built. Just bought M100 to complete the look of a Jeep & it's trailer.
This jeep was purchased in 1999 from a relative of a friend. He told me the jeep had been stationed in Ft Leanordwood MO. He bought it at surplus mid 70s and drove it for a number of years. Parked it in late 70s. It was covered by 'Best top' type vinyl top protecting it from the harsh Iowa winters. Sandblasting & paint is pretty much all I have done other than having MIL engine rebuilt. Jeep's hood honors 2 relatives of mine who gave with their lives for Old Glory. Capt A Agan USMC Fighter pilot, WW II & Korea Vet, KIA Korea 1951 & Pvt H Janes US Army MIA Korea 1952.
