I've used a duct tape patch on a couple of tattered model seats in the past. The thin stripe from a roll of silver pinstriping tape worls great for scale duct tape! Just dull it down a tad with some dirty sandpaper and you're good to go. I'd think that with all the sun exposure this car has had in 50+ years that the top of that back seat would be shot to hell by now and patched up pretty well!

(Can't justify the expense of a whole roll of pinstriping tape just for the little bit you'll be needing here and there to simulate duct tape? It also comes in handy for fine line paint masking!)
