Only 3 engine choices in 57/58.......312,
383, and a 430. ALL were 4bbl.
I had a 383 from a 57 TPC in my 50 Ford.

Wow...I feel like I really know where you came from in one sense. My '85 delta 88 was my first car, but my '57 Mercury was my first old car to me as well!! :-) That is my 2nd car. I love these photos, thank you for posting!

1958 Mercury Monteclair (The Beginning)

Last updated Jul 6, 2013

Photo of a 1958 Mercury Monteclair (The Beginning)

No longer owned

This is the car that started it all. It's the second car I ever owned, but the first "old car" for me, even though it was only 17 years old when I bought it. I liked it because it looked so different, and it had a ride that had to be as smooth as a Rolls Royce. It also had a very comfortable interior. And for a large, heavy car, it had plenty of get-up-and-go.

Don't remember, but it was a big V-8 with a 4 bbl carb.

Factory Options

dual rear antennas, fender skirts, power everything.

updated AM/FM stereo.
