Mar 3, 2008 at 11:39 am: A friend of mine drove one of these to get his drivers license (that was back n 1964 though) he got his license and scraped the car on a high curb going home. His dad was cool about it.

I bought this car in 1993 based solely on pictures I saw and the owner's recommendation. I flew down to San Bernadino, CA, from Idaho to drive it back (the owner insisted it should be driven, not shipped) and upon arrival found it has a serious oil leak. The guy gave me a case of oil, took my check and wished me good luck. But it really turned out to be a good car (the oil leak was resolved with a new PCV valve). It had a lot of get-up-and-go plus got 20 MPG on the highway. It was all original, although I did have to reupholster the seats and it needed a new headliner. I sold it in 1995 to provide funds to buy my Thunderbird.
