1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Sedan ('66 Sedan)
Last updated Mar 16, 2008
Owned for 12 years...restoration in progress! The 4-door hardtop Corvairs are fairly rare, especially with the 4-speed manual transmission. I've stripped this one down to bare metal and am restoring it piece by piece. It's mostly done, and a blast to drive.
110HP / 4-speed. 164 cu. in. Flat-six, air-cooled.
LED Taillights, 100W e-code headlights, relocated battery to trunk, 750W Hifonics amp feeding Infinity and RF speakers, Kenwood CD/MP3/USB head unit custom moulded into dash. Mazda RX-7 seats and Grant GT steering wheel. Corsa instrument cluster.
2" drop race springs and shocks, 16X7 Superlite wheels, quick steering arms, all-new suspension ball joints and bushings.
Heavily modified carbs - relocated jets, reshaped floats, extended vents, modified chokes and throats. Dynomax mufflers on dual exhaust.

Well, just a little more incremental progress on the rear suspension and drivetrain. The axles, rear control arms, trailing arm toe links, and some of the heater plumbing are all hooked up. It's been too cold here to make much progress!
