- Description: This is my 1966 Chevy Corvair Monza Sport Coupe. I bought her in May 2003 with 47,500 miles and used her as my daily driver for two years before she went into semi-retirement as my nice-day car/"Play Toy" in September 2005, when I bought my 2006 Cobalt SS. She now shows 64,000 miles.
Mechanically, she's nothing like stock. She now makes roughly 220 wheel hp, up from 140 gross from the factory. Combined with a 4-speed manual transmission and standard 4-wheel independant suspension, that makes for one FUN ride!
Cosmetically, well, judge for yourself. She's no show car, but she's in a lot better condition than anyone would expect for a car that's 44 years old. The interior is all original. The appearance is basically original too, right down to factory width whitewalls on the tires. The simulated Mag Wheel covers are a factory option. The only change I made was to paint the rear "cove" area silver, like the factory did on the Corvair Corsa model. I like the look. Other than that, if you look closely, you'll see that she's about an inch lower than stock - this was done for handling, not appearance. - By: CorvairJim
