Mar 24, 2011 at 12:21 am: Notice also that there is no fan belt and no alternator. The fan is driven by the electric motor mounted above it, and if you look at the interior photos you'll see that there's an Optima "Yellow Top" heavy-duty Spiral Cell battery in there mounted in such a way that it can be easily changed out for one with a fresh charge between rounds. This way there's no need for a crankshaft pulley, making for more space behind the engine.
