This was my first brand new car. I ordered from the factory with the 283 V-8 and overdrive. It was dark blue (not the light blue pictured) with black naugahyde interior - extremely practical for Louisiana summer days that often exceeded 100 degrees.
As soon as it was broken in, I took it out on a remote 10 mile stretch of road to see how fast it would go. At 127 mph, it was still gaining speed... but I chickened out. As young and immortal as I felt at 22 years old, that was fast enough! I've still never exceeded that speed in any car I've owned.
