1968 Chevrolet Elcamino (Elkee)

I was conned... Started out that I was ready to paint my boat/trailer, so I finally took it over to my body and paint dude's house and dropped it off. Several months later, I picked up the boat, all nice and pretty adorned in Viper Blue Pearl Mettallic. I was nuts for this color, still very cool to this day. I pretty much had most of the boat done, motor and controls and pump were all in and working. Phone rings and it is painter dude. He is like: "Do you know anybody looking to buy any cars..." (Bait...) I am like: "No, not right now.... Why, whadaya got???" He says, a Ford van, Chev cavalier, Honda civic and a 68' Elcamino..." So I take the bait.... "What color???" I ask. "Oh, it's that blue..." Real casual like... I am like: "Oh, I suppose it's Viper Blue Pearl Mettallic..." He says "Yup!!!" "You bastard, you set me up.... When can I take a look at it???" "C'mon over right now...." So I roll over there and he goes on to say he had a little paint leftover from the boat, just finished the Elky, really liked that color, so he shot the fender to see what it looked like. It looked cool, so he bought more and did a complete on it. I was like amazed how good it looked and my mind immediately invisioned the matching boat and trailer behind it... So I bought it on the spot for $3,700 bucks.
Bone stock 307 motor, nothing fancy. 2 speed Powerglide.
Power steering, Power brakes.
Stuck an aluminum intake and a Holley carb on it. Thing gets 20 mpg + on the highway with that powerglide! Factory lights sucked so bad I could hardly see at night. Upgraded both headlights to Hella H4's running 2 relays, one for low, one for high beams, have them wired directly to the battery. Stuck in 90W low beams, 130W high beams. Got pulled over, cop asked me if I knew why, I told him I hit a deer and my lights were wacked out. He let me go with a warning and I promptly adjusted them waaaaaay down for oncoming traffic! Still, when you hit high beams, it is like daylight!
