Oops - I see yours was a 283. I must have mis-read it the first time. Mine WAS a 307, so giving up 24 cubes must have made it even worse than mine was - Yours was still prettier, though!

"Sedate" is a good word for a 307/Powerglide Chevelle - I had a '70 Greenbrier wagon with the same drivetrain. I like your car better... trophy image

1968 Chevrolet Malibu (green boat)

Photo of a 1968 Chevrolet Malibu (green boat)

No longer owned

This was a 1968 Chevelle convertible. I came across this car when buying some parts from a fellow locally. It was in an industrial shed, covered and the heads pulled. The paint was faded and was a light green. I bought it, had it painted, new roof and a tremendous amount of elbow grease to get it to a decent level. Oddly I was washing it one day and a large bubble developed in the paint, large meaning about 2 feet around. Seems it was not sealed well and the paint got under it. I took it back to the fellow who painted it in his garage (you could do that then) and he repainted the quarter. Nice car but just too sedate with than 307 automatic. Sold it to a fellow on St Clair avenue near Dufferin and saw it quite ofter up to a few years ago.
