1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S (XVA-Body)
Last updated Feb 20, 2011
I bought this car in 1987 when touring with Ringling Brothers Circus. Two of my fondest memories were rebuilding the heads with my brother. I didn't know you had to run leaded gas!!! LoL
Then I rebuilt the suspension and brakes with my best friend in his garage one winter!
This was sold to me as a 340 Formula S car in 1987. Back then I didn't know much about cars. My mother bought a 68 Cuda new in 68 and I grew up in that car and got my drivers licence in her car. I bought this one because I knew my BMX bicycle would fit in the back with out taking it apart!
Right now it's a 340 A-833 4spd. I did the big disk brake swap, rear disks. Moser rear axles. 5 on 4 1/2 wheel bolt spacing now. Currently is is being used as a development vehicle at XV Motorsports for there Level I & II suspension and brakes as well as chassis stiffening.
I decoded the VIN and found out that this car was origenally a 318ci automatic car. I was sad/mad to find out I had been lied to by the used car salesmen, BIG SHOCK THERE! But I look on the bright side now. Since it not the valuable Formula S that I though it was. Now, I can build it any way I want, guilt free.
I'm very exited, My car was chosen by XV Motorsports to developed their Level I and II suspension and brake kits. Plus all their chassis stiffening products. If you goto their website, all the A-body stuff was/is being developed off my car![img][/img]
