1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Lame Horse)
Last updated Jun 12, 2012
I bought this 69 Mach 1 as a restoration project. The intention was to restore it and sell it for a profit to help pay for my oldest son's college tuition. Well, 5 years later and after my son has already started college, I haven't even started on the car except for disassembly. I bought it right when the economy went bad and didn't want to have a bunch of money invested in the car and then lose my job, plus I probably couldn't make a profit on it anyway in this market. I should have followed my gut feeling and walked away before buying it. It needs a FULL restoration including front frame rails, inner fender aprons, floor, rear quarters, taillight panel, door repair, etc., etc. etc. At least it came with a truckload of new and good used parts from the previous owner who had also planned to restore it. Supposedly the engine and transmission work well, and the plugs look clean. It'll be a nice car when it's finished, if I live that long.
351 Windsor (H code converted to 4-bbl), FMX auto trans, 9" rear w/3.25 gears. Black Jade exterior with black deluxe interior.
Power steering, power brakes, in-dash tach.
stock, and will be restored to stock. I may convert it to a white interior because I've always liked it with the dark green exterior.
