BASICALLY, IT WAS THE FIRST AMERICAN HIGH PERFORMANCE IN-LINE SIX-CYLINDER ENGINE SINCE THE 1954 CHEVROLET CORVETTE! DESIGNED BY JOHN DELOREAN, THE OHC HEAD DESIGN PUT IT IN THE “AVANTE GARDE” OF DETROIT ENGINEERING! THE PONTIAC OHC-6 ENGINE WITH THE “SPRINT” OPTION FEATURED HIGH COMPRESSION PISTONS, A HOTTER CAMSHAFT, DUAL VALVE SPRINGS, A SPLIT/DUAL EXHAUST MANIFOLD, AN UPGRADED COIL AND THE THEN BRAND NEW QUADRAJET 4-BARREL CARBURETOR!
