About

Me and a friend of mine got this car from the tow yard he worked at. pulled the 305 motor from a 79 Camaro. rebuilt it alittle wild but not to fast. the car looked like Hell! we had to clean it up fast when we got it home so it didn't look like a piece of junk in the driveway. the front clip had to be replaced, so we hunted around for a few nova's. found alot of parts here and there. both doors are from different cars and both fenders are from different cars. talk about your multiple colored car. there was five different colors. after we got it running and driveable, it sat for awhile. maybe about a year. my friend ended up moving out of state and took the Nova with him. I would go up to visit for vacation and see it rotting in his back yard. 4 years later I traded him a 90cc Quad and a 454 block for the car, and brought it back. i have slowly been working on it whenever i have time. I think if your going to build a Hot Rod, you build it to play with, and that's what i did. It's not a show car! it's a toy! and i play hard with my toy's. I have had the Nova now for 6 years and i take it out about every two weeks and take some rubber off it and smoke up the nieghbor hood, it's fun and i love it and i will never grow to old of doing it. i have never raced it and probably one day i will. but for now, i'm looking to get another set of rear tires !!!!!!!!! :-)

Specs

rebuilt a 305. high rise manifold 2" spacer with a modified and ported carter/edlebrock carb. 510 lift on cam. special grind. gear drive. 3-speed on the floor. posi rear end . it just tears up the pavement !!!! 750,electric fuel pump. it has a real good lope to it. you can hear me before you see me !!!! :) Headman headers with dual 3" pipe with 2 chamber flowmasters and no crosspipe. i wanted to know what each side of the block was doing. HEI distributor with a flame thrower kit and adjusted timing. It has a 4" cowl hood on her. She runs like a bat out of hell. I have a 3-speed manual tranny, and it's fun !!!!! I never had it dynoed, so not sure the of the horsepower, but if i had to guess ! probly around 375-400. I haven't raced it yet for a 1/4 mile time. i have had it up to 135 at 4800 rpm, and it wanted to keep going ! even though highway 280 by frisco has 4 lanes i had to slow it down. A ticket over 100 mph is not cheap !!! That's the basic layout of the Nova

Factory Options

took the power steering off. less belts, more pony's. not much stock on this car. the shell and the tranny. gave it high back bucket seat for that racing comfort we all love !

Mods

im a metal fabricator, so i added special things to personalize it. battery hold dowm plate and shifter plate and radiator support all have my initials cut into them. all made of brushed stainless steel, took the paint code off my tan colored 06 Dodge truck and added a little black to it. so it's dark Grey with Gold in it. the Gold shines in the light. It's a good color for now!!!!! it may change one day though !
