1971 Chevrolet Vega Wagon Custom (Mildred)

Trophies: 2 Give a trophy Last updated Nov 18, 2008

Photo of a 1971 Chevrolet Vega Wagon Custom (Mildred)

About

After selling my 1st Vega, (which broke my heart), I spent the next 20 years waiting for the time when I'd have both the money and the opportunity to get another one.

The last one was "fully loaded" and had a 262 V8 and a TH350 automatic.

This one has a 350 V8 and a 200R4 Automatic overdrive.

I named it "Mildred" after my grandmother, who was short but not one to be messed with.

I hope to take this to either the Bonniville salt flats, or the Nevada Silver State Road Race, or both, to see how fast it will go. :-)E)

Specs

Approximately 280 HP, 400 Lb/ft torque.
Will put the car on a Dynamometer after the engine is broke in.
Cruises at 75 mph @ 2700 rpm
350 V8 bored .030
Gets 17 mpg in town and highway combined.

The whole car weighs about 2800 pounds.

No quarter mile times yet
