About
I built this car from a '72 Vega Wagon and a '75 V8 Monza 2+2.
It had a (worn out) stock 262 cu. in. engine with a 2 barrel and a TH350 automatic trans.
It got 20 mpg around town and was VERY fast.
(faster than a 1987 Z28 Camaro.)
(never did get a good timing slip from a dragstrip.)
I had to sell it after I got laid off from my job,
:-((
but now I have a '71 Vega wagon I'm building with a 350 cu in engine and a TH200R4 (overdrive) automatic trans. It has a hot cam and shorty headers. I'll drive it every day. (when it gets done.)
I'm doing everything myself, including the engine, transmission, exhaust, wiring, upholstery, stereo, and customized dash.
I'll also add a rear view camera in back with a Digital Picture Screen on the dash so I can get rid of the blind spot created by the rear view mirror on the windshield.
It should be "on the road" in the next couple months, hopefully no later than March, but it may not be "done" for a very long time.
I'll drive it first, and make everything look pretty later.
Specs
Chevy V8 350 cu. in.
about 300 HP
about 400# torque from (2000 up)
Car should weigh less than 3000 pounds when it's completely done.
1/4 mile time will be posted asap (Should be high 13's even up here at 5000 feet above sea level.)
I may not have the nerve to find the top speed, but I'll sure try.
;-)
Factory Options
Old one (I had to sell) had all this below.
New one will also have most, or more, of the same, eventually.

Update on the Vega
Mar 14, 2008
Been working on the Vega like a mad man for a while. Back is paying for it, (sore) but it will be worth it when I fire it up and hear the sweet sound of open headers disturbing the peace around here. ;-) hehehe. I have the engine almost ready now....
