Hey - thanks for the comments on my LeSabre. I plan on keeping it original. Couple things not working - heater, radio, A/C, but working on those. I think I need to replace the fusebox for the radio and the heat, at least start there.

Sorry to hear about the Torino - would have loved seeing it done up like the movie!

1973 Ford Gran Torino (The Big Lebowski)

Well, it's like this - When you're name comes up in a big movie, you kind of identify with it. You all remember "The Big Lebowski"? Well, let me introduce myself - I'm Jeff Lebowski! It took a little time, but I found a halfway decent '73 Gran Torino to play with... I should have pictures to post soon.

Update: There won't be any pictures of my Torino.. ever. Seems the car caught fire due to a leaking carb and burned in November of last year. I'll see if it's possible to get a pic of the actual movie car from I was planning to build the car to look just like the movie car- rust, primer, bullet holes and all!

(The photo above is from the movie, but it looks a lot like the death of the real car!)

burned to a crisp!

Factory Options

Leaking carb..

Nature provided the rust
A leaking carb provided the flames, smoke, and ashes!
