1973 Plymouth Road Runner (Big Yellow)
Last updated Aug 28, 2009
This is one bad 1973 Road Runner clone done better than the factory.
Low stance, 340 engine, 727 tranny, and the 8 3/4 sure grip posi with a 3.91 rear end. It also has a mandrel 3" exhaust that is pretty intimidating.
Only 200 miles or so on new drive train per previous owner.
This car starts the first time and sounds really mean through the 3" mandrel bent exhaust.
Has the legendary Mopar 340 .040 over engine that is so desirable, "U" (known for being on the 340 six pack engines) heads which are the "X" type with the larger valves and machine shop invoice for the work done. Engine has a windage tray and is 10:1 compression. Cam is the Mopar Performance purple cam grind 284/484 purple cam, very lopey idle. Has the Performer rpm intake, Holley 650 double pumper carb, headers, 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust all the way back and exits through chrome tips, loud and aggressive exhaust at wide open throttle. Has a new GER 727 trans with shift kit, traction bars, new 3.91 posi 8 3/4 rear, msd 5 ignition with MSD coil, and a new radiator. New master Cylinder and Brake Booster.
Bright nice paint, not perfect but looks good but you have to look close, paint is couple of years old. New meaty tires that are stuffed in the fender well for that hot rod look with smaller tires up front mounted on nice chrome star rims. Car has a new windshield, and has power front disc brakes and power steering.
Interior has buckets seats, console with slap stick shifter, and the rally instrument cluster. Car has a new a/c heater box, dash restored and steering column restored as well as the cluster.
