I agree! Don't know why GM decided to make the top fitting on the evaporator so long and where it tilted the evaporator forward towards the front of the car! There's already limited real estate under the hood around the compressor, why eat up even more of it with that design?? The "straight shorter fitting" got things under control though. The accumulator you see here is from the parts truck that I got the donor evaporator (for the fitting) out of which came in handy when testing out different hose positions that I wanted to go with on the accumulator. Plus, I always wanted to cut an accumulator open and see what went on inside of there (which I have yet to do).
