I always have liked black cars but the wife picked out Red. Great looking olds.

Wow! That's a beautiful car! There are very few original Cutlass' left in such good condition. You say you want to do some performance mods, but I would leave it exactly the way it is. Once you start modifying a car like this, its value drops quickly. You could quickly turn a $15,000 car into an $8,000 car with just a few hundred dollars in parts.

1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon ("Stormy")

Trophies: 2 Give a trophy Last updated Aug 3, 2009

Photo of a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon ("Stormy")

About

I purchased this car from its original owners in Conyers, GA back in 2003. This Cutlass was built in Doraville, GA and sold in Atlanta, GA. The car never had been outside of Georgia until I bought her and took her to her new home in Florida. She only had 16,000 miles on her. She now has 23,000 miles on it. This triple black Cutlass looks and drives like a new car. She has her original 350 4 bbl Olds Rocket V-8.

I am not going to make any modifications to this car, but I just want to maintain her originality. The original paint on this car looks better than the paint my new car. The original owner babied this car as it was a gift from her husband on her 30th birthday back in 1977.

When I was in my last year of high school (1981), I had purchased a 1977 Cutlass Salon identical to this one I own now; however, my first Cutlass had T-Tops and power windows. This car is very special to me, and I appreciate the care her original owner's gave her.
