From album 1977 Firebird Esprit model by CorvairJim
After about an hour's work, the rear spoiler is all but gone, victim of my Dremel tool. I backed up the opening with a section of sheet styrene stock before grinding it down, just in case I broke through. The "glass" T-tops have been glued in place as well. I did that early on to help add stiffness to the body for while I'm reworking the rest of it. As you can see in this shot, the "spats are hollow, not solid pieces like on the real car. That makes it harder for me because I don't have much to work with in rebuilding the stock contours of the fenders/quarter panels.

Kind of funny to be removing pieces that GM added to make these cars "sportier". "De-optioning" a Trans Am is hard work!
