Bought 1979 Lafer in 1992 in Avila Beach, CA. from a sail boat enthusiast. It had 77,061 miles on. He moved the Lafer to Avila Beach and used it for transport when he was in town. The motor was rebuilt in 1998 and the total miliage as of April of 2010 is 79,372 miles (driven a grand total of 2,311 miles in 12 years).
I mostly drove it on special events and a few weekend get-a-ways.

My job took me to Richland, WA. where I still reside. I drive the car on short drives several times a year during the summer and I run the engine 20-30 minutes on a monthly basis. I purchased a reconditioned transmission from V-Dub Trans in LA Cal. in 2008 and had it shipped to a local garage for installation. The tires are over 10 years and still look brand new. I always meant to totally restore the Lafer but never got around to it.
My wife and I are moving and decided to sell the Lafer to someone with the time and energy to fix her up proper.
The Lafer has a strong motor, runs great and get good mileage.
I don't know what it is worth, but asking $5,600.00 or Best offer.
