This video is a review of my 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This restored vehicle features a 300 horsepower Chevy 350 V8, 700r4 overdrive transmission, 3.42 rear gears, flowmaster exhaust, and subframe connectors. Original black on black t-top vehicle with fresh paint and interior. The original Oldsmobile 403 only had 180 horsepower, but these cars can return to the muscle car era with only a few tweaks/mods.

Jul 31, 2008 at 8:07 am: Sewgood17 is right, the Olds 403 can be built for big power--but it ain't gonna be cheap! Since I am poor, I went the easy route with a Chevy 350 conversion (requires new motor mounts and accessories including a/c are on other side). By the way, I am from Lansing Michigan so i'm obviously an Olds fan, I just couldn't afford to build a 403 right (my chevy is fueled by Visa). Because they aren't as common and do have windowed mains, they need to be built properly or else you have failures like I did.

Jul 23, 2008 at 3:20 pm: Hey Scott, get your facts straight. the 403 is a very dependable motor if its built rite. mine dino's at 512 hp 502 ftlbs we drag race every year.There are a lot of 403 Old's showing up these days that are built. And thats a third generation F body.
