What a great starting place for you & your new baby. Although I may want to pave your driveway. I see in comments some discerning detail oriented people. With what you have is nothing short of living your dream. Take your time as I have on my 1987. It's been 6 yrs since I got it & I am taking my time in completing it the way I want it. Doesn't have to be number's matching if what you want is what you want. Wish I could have gotten that 1974 as I said before. Girl, if I may, go with Sidepipes.

I would have never picked out these rims for myself, but I really do like them. I will leave them on the car.

The only problems I see with it are the aftermarket wheels and some missing trim. Those wire wheels were a fairly popular addition to these 1980-81 Corvettes and surprisingly don't look too far out of place on them to me. The missing rocker panel trim just makes it easier to justify finding a set of repro factory side pipes for it!

One thing I wonder about: Looking around the screw holes for the front plate I see something red. Was this car originally red and repainted black?

Yes, it is a fixer-upper. Not a bad starting point though.
