1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS (Dad's Stupid Car)

Trophies: 17 Give a trophy Last updated Jan 30, 2009

Photo of a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS (Dad's Stupid Car)

About

Garaged winters by original and current owner. A true rust-belt survivor. Doors, floors and quarter panels were spotless.

The car was off the road for four years while undergoing an extensive transformation. The inspiration was a '77 Nova Rally that I owned in the early '80's. Silver, maroon interior, 350/Q-jet, factory 4-speed and A/C. The Monte is intended to be reminiscent of the Nova but with modern upgrades like fuel injection and a 6-speed tranny. Gotta love double overdrive!

Specs

Originally equipped with column shift, split bench w/ power driver's seat. Maroon over maroon until being stripped to bare metal.

L69 (HO 305) and 200-4R tranny are long gone.
