1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS (Bad Ass Monte Carlo SS)
Last updated Oct 25, 2007
Ever since I was 14 I wanted a Monte SS really bad I was always on the internet looking for them. My parents thought I should get a car that was good on gas. I didn't care I wanted a Monte. So when I getting about that age almost 16 we started looking for one. I had a hard time because my dad likes to put things off or just not do them. So we went and looked at an 84 LS. One day he was taking me to work by this time I was already 16 and I looked over and I saw this 85 SS and it was in AMAZING shape so we waited till the guy came out and asked if it was for sale and he said he would sell it for $5000 he also opened up the hood and it had a completly chromed out 350. My dad said he would think about it no didn't get it. So the search was on again. There was always this 86 SS that one of my really good friends owned in the back of my mind that was kind of my last resort. So I was tired of waiting so I went to a party one night and the next morning I called my dad and he came and looked at it. It wasn't in the greatest shape but it was a car and even better it was a Monte. My buddy wanted $2000 out of it but since we are good friends he basically gave it away for $1000. So I am 17 now and it is my first car and I have just been tinkering with it nickle and diming it. Someday I want to redo it put a 383 stroker in, custom interior, redo the trunk, needs some body work, new paint, wheels.
Engine Size-305 H.O.
The top speed I am not quite sure because my speedometer only goes to 85 but I had it pinned at 85 for a good minute.
Took the smog pump off
Sandblasted and sanded rust spots
Shot it with a coat of black primer
